About I Am Monsters!

Actor/director Nicholas Vince is one of the UK’s shining beacons in the queer horror scene, most well known for his debut role as the Chatterer in Clive Barker’s HELLRAISER, and Kinski (Moon Face) in the cult shocker NIGHTBREED, Vince took to the stage in 2019 with his autobiographical one-man-show I AM MONSTERS. Both a resoundingly nostalgic and relatable tale of growing up in love with horror, and an essential discourse on the turmoil of growing up gay under draconian Thatcherian rule where the closet was always safest, this movie adaptation, had its World premiere at FrightFest in 2023.

I AM MONSTERS! charts Vince’s life from a monster-obsessed child, born undershot, through to an out of the closet actor, propelled to fame by Clive Barker’s ground-breaking films. He speaks openly about being a bullied outsider, the life-threatening operation to reconstruct his face, his battle with being gay in Thatcher’s Britain and reveals what it takes to be a Monster.

If I do not live in the UK, USA, Canada or Australia can I still buy a copy?

All copies of I Am Monsters! sold from the Dark Rift Horror shop are currently only available to UK, USA, Canada and Australia customers due to our licensing agreement for the film. If shipping becomes available to more countries we will make an announcement via our Newsletter which you can sign up to HERE.

Does the film include subtitles?

The feature film has English subtitles which can be enabled from the main menu or via your Blu-ray remote control. The bonus features do not have subtitles.

Will the disks play on my Blu-ray player?

The I Am Monsters! Collector’s Edition Blu-ray disks are encoded Region 0 (Region Free) so that they will play on any Blu-ray player purchased in the UK or USA. During our quality control stage, we test all our master disks on a wide range of consumer Blu-ray players in addition to games consoles (Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS3, PS4, PS5) and desktop PC Blu-ray disk drives.

How will my order be packaged for postage?

The contents of each order are carefully checked by our team for quality control at each stage of the packaging process. With the I Am Monsters! Limited Collector’s Edition, the lobby cards and booklet are safely stored inside the case along with this Blu-ray disk. The case is secured inside the hand numbered Slipcover before being sealed in plastic wrap. This is then sealed in bubble wrap before being packaged into a cardboard box to ensure that your order is safe while on its way to your door. Our boxes are small enough to fit through a standard letter box along with the rest of your mail so you don’t need to worry about missing the delivery.
