A dark horror comedy in the vein of THE EVIL DEAD II and SHAUN OF THE DEAD. Sophie’s 18th birthday party becomes a bloodbath when six terrifying monsters descend upon her house, intent on devouring the party guests and killing anyone who tries to leave…
As her school friends are torn apart and eaten, Sophie must rally a band of misfits and take up arms to send their party crashers back to hell. In order to survive the night, Sophie will face her destiny; monsters are real – and she’s the only one who can stop them.
Book of Monsters features a cast full of kickass women including Lyndsey Craine, Michaela Longden, Lizzie Stanton, Anna Dawson, Hannah Rose-Muirhead and Steph Mossman. Also starring is horror legend Nicholas Vince as Jonas, famous for his roles as the Chatterer in Clive Barker's Hellraiser & Hellbound: Hellaiser II as well as Kinski in Nightbreed.
The film had its World Premiere at Arrow Video Frightfest on 25th August 2018 in London and has since picked up 7 awards, including Best Film and Best Special FX at the New York City Horror Film Festival.

Reviews
Morbidly Beautiful (***** 5/5) “I absolutely adore BOOK OF MONSTERS, and I imagine every fan of Sam Raimi or Peter Jackson will find something to love in this movie. BOOK OF MONSTERS is assured a spot in my regular horror movie watching rotation. Don’t sleep on this movie as I’m sure it will be a favorite of yours too.”
The Killer Spotlight (***** 4.5/5) Book of monsters is a Fantastic Love Letter to old school 80’s horror that blends into a modern theme with a stellar cast, Fun kills and INCREDIBLE Creatures that are designed and made with incredible practical effects. I am praying they continue the story with not only a sequel but maybe a TV show too. 4.5/5 - Arguably one of The Best Films of This years FrightFest"
Hey U Guys (**** 4/5) "A lovingly-made and naturally funny crowd-pleaser, it’s the sort of balls-to-the-wall low-rent genre filmmaking that’s kept the scene alive for so long, bathed in practical blood and guts and huge, physical puppets."
Live For Film (**** 4/5) "Book of Monsters is terrific fun and a total crowd pleaser. A practical FX paradise that is also jammed full of Spaced-style humour and huge fountains of blood, I hope we get more in the form of a sequel or a TV show very soon and will definitely be keeping an eye out for whatever Sparke gets up to next."
Nerdly (**** 4/5) "Combining a witty script and practical special effects, it works as an affectionate homage to ’80s creature features while retaining a refreshingly modern-day approach to its gender politics."
